Check out this NY Times story on children and their environments titled "Where Children Sleep."
http://lens.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/08/04/where-children-sleep/Think about the room where you sleep. Does it represent you? Your identity? Personality? Social class? Geographic region? Culture? Your lifestyle?
I hope my room is not representative of me... messy, slightly chaotic, & dusty. That's why I put a lot of effort into my room at school. It is my cozy little home and I want people to be able to see a part of who I am from it.
ReplyDelete@Caitlin What a good point about the difference between the bedroom at home and the bedroom at school! For some reason this made me think of a sort of random thought... I crave new spaces so that I can come up with new designs. Whenever I go to Bed Bath & Beyond I imagine the soap dispensers and towel racks in a bathroom of a future home, one where I can choose the contents.
