"Inviting The World To Dinner"

Oh how I would love to live like this!

"Every week for the past 30 years, I've hosted a Sunday dinner in my home in Paris. People, including total strangers, call or e-mail to book a spot. I hold the salon in my atelier, which used to be a sculpture studio. The first 50 or 60 people who call may come, and twice that many when the weather is nice and we can overflow into the garden." A story from NPR in 2009, give it a listen.

  1. "This I believe" essays! I remember writing one of those essays for 9th grade (or 10th grade?) english class. I think that dinner idea is incredible! I don't think I would ever begin to dream of hosting something like that but it would be fascinating to attend.

  2. @Caitlin Yes-- What interesting memories I have of 9th grade English. "This I believe" AND Romeo and Juliet. And so so much more...

At this point I just dream of one day visiting (let alone living in, and hosting dinner parties) Paris. But maybe one day... one day...
